3 Years ago today….
On Wednesday February 1st 2006 something happened that would change my life forever.
You see I remember the 1st being a Wednesday because I saved Wednesday’s as a free day to run errands do various things around my house or to just plain be lazy. But one thing would always take place on Wednesday’s. I would talk to my best friend.
My best friend Bob lived about 3 hours away and on Wednesday’s we would always catch up on life, family and business things.
Here is a little secret about my best friend. I only met him a year before.
We were both in Vegas attending Self Improvement training. This was a huge event and as we were waiting to get into the room I noticed an empty seat in the hall. I went over and asked they guy sitting there if the seat was taken, he smiled and said no so I introduced myself and sat down. From the moment I met this Man I felt as though we were friends, like I had known him forever and oddly enough we lived fairly close. We ended up hanging out throughout this training and when we returned home we stayed in touch. I became friends with his family and he with mine. My 2 Sons loved him as if he were apart of our family and they had known them forever. We both had the same philosophies and similar goals. He knew more about me than any other person in the world.
So on Wednesday’s we would catch up and bounce ideas off of one another and we would literally talk for a couple of hours. We would usually talk in the morning but if we didn’t for any reason I knew that we would talk around 10pm at night.
Wednesday February 1st 2006, I remember being an extremely cold day. I woke up early and started my errands running all over the place, lots of things to do that day. Several times throughout the morning and the day I had very strong thoughts and remember even saying it out loud a few times that “Man, I got to call Bobby” but for some reason, I didn’t. That night I got into bed around 10pm, exhausted and laying there for only a minute or two the phone rings. I see it’s my friend Bobby. I answered, “Hey Buddy, I’ve been thinking about you all day” Only on the other end of the phone it was not Bob. It was his wife calling to tell me that Bob had taken his life that afternoon.
Needless to say I was stunned. As I sit here recalling that moment I can feel the same rush of emotions consume me.
As the next few days passed there was no signs as to why? There was no rhyme or reason for this to happen. His family looked to me for answers as to why I think it happened. I was and still am at a loss.
What I have learned about this experience as I said in the beginning of this note has changed my life.
I’ve learned that no matter what is going on in your life there are people who love you.
There is nothing that this world can take away from you that could justify you taking your own life because tomorrow is always another day.
In life, it’s not what we have or what we do that makes us. It’s about being grateful for what and whom we have in our lives. The way we treat others does matter. When you see someone upset it’s about him or her not you be empathetic.
We live in a world full of things and objects that people perceive will make them happy. I see people everyday take for granted what they have. With the economy and all of the issues in today’s world remember, this to shall pass.
People come into our lives for a reason. At the time you meet them you don’t know why and sometimes you never know why they are here. Frankly trying to figure it out is a waste of time and you shouldn’t put much thought into it.
What you need to do is to be grateful that you have met them and here’s a stretch, Tell Them you are thankful to have them in your life every chance you get.
This morning I opened an email from a friend who I have not seen in over a year. Friday was his Birthday and I called and left him a message to wish him a happy day. This is the Macho type of Guy who doesn’t express himself in this fashion so it definitely meant a lot to me to receive the email. After reading it I thought of my friend Bob and I decided to share this story and the email with you.
Before I copy the email below I wanted to take the opportunity to send my love and best wishes to all of my friends here. Some of you I have never met and for some reason we have connected here. Be it business or friendship I wanted to let you know I am thankful for having be a part of my world no matter how big or small. I know for some reason we have found each other and my wish is to bring something good into your life.
Take a moment to look around at what you have in your life. I guarantee that no matter how bad you may feel there are others that have it worse. Whether your life is going great or not be grateful for what you have and make sure the people who are in your life know you appreciate them.
Sending Love, Peace & Power to you and yours.

Here is the email from my friend…..
A friend of mine opened his wife’s underwear drawer and picked up a silk paper wrapped package:
‘This, – he said – isn’t any ordinary package.’
He unwrapped the box and stared at both the silk paper and the box.
‘She got this the first time we went to New York, 8 or 9 years ago.
He got near the bed and placed the gift box next to the other clothing
He turned to me and said:
‘Never save something for a special occasion.
Every day in your life is a special occasion’.
I still think those words changed my life.
Now I read more and clean less.
I sit on the porch without worrying about anything.
I spend more time with my family, and less at work.
I understood that life should be a source of experience to be lived up to, not survived through.
I no longer keep anything.
I use crystal glasses every day…
I’ll wear new clothes to go to the supermarket, if I feel like it.
I don’t save my special perfume for special occasions; I use it whenever I want to.
The words ‘Someday…’ and ‘ One Day…’ are fading away from my dictionary.
If it’s worth seeing, listening or doing, I want to see, listen or do it now…..
I don’t know what my friend’s wife would have done if she knew she wouldn’t
I think she might have called her relatives and closest friends.
She might call old friends to make peace over past quarrels.
I’d like to think she would go out for Chinese, her favorite food.
It’s these small things that I would regret not doing, if I knew my time had come.
Each day, each hour, each minute, is special.
Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no one.

Where the Heck have you been Vic?
Where the Heck have you been Vic?
Well that has been the question of the year for me!
I am going to answer for you, but first I’d like to thank everyone who kept tabs on me especially those of you who were concerned. It’s funny, I know I have a lot of friends and contacts out there in the Internet world but, I never thought my disappearing for awhile from social media would cause such a stir.
So, where have I been hiding?
