A Personal Story I NEVER expected to share….

Hello Everyone!

I want to take this moment to share a story with you about my life and a health issue I faced just  this year.

If you have ever read any of my posts, you know that in the past, I have shared some really personal and private feelings with you.

Today, I am going to share something that I had never planned on talking about.  My story that follows is very personal and frankly it is something that I have wanted to put behind me. If you know me at all, you know I always focus on the positive.  So in not talking about this experience in past posts, I was simply believing that I as only focusing on the positive.  Things have changed…because ultimately, while being faced with a very difficult health scare, I have found an amazing opportunity I feel I must share with you.

In November of 2008, I went to a doctor’s appointment to get a mole removed. When the doctor examined the mole he let me know that the mole was normal yet, he would like to remove it.  However, as he was looking at my face, he made the “hmmm” noise. I said “what hmm”? He said, “Give me a minute”….

Next, the doctor pulls out an instrument which looks like a telescope and straps it to his head…a very intimidating piece of equipment…and I got a strong feeling of concern. What he said to me next stopped me in my tracks. He said, “Mr. Maranto, you have the beginning stages of skin cancer”. All I heard him say was Skin Cancer and my mind starting flying.  All I kept thinking about is I’m not done here yet. There is so much I need to do…  This may sound corny but it’s the truth. I then thought, “OK, I’m fixing this so what is my first step?”

The Doctor told me that I had to begin applying a Chemotherapy cream, which is a topical form of chemotherapy. Next, I was shown pictures of what the medication was going to do to me. My entire face was about to completely lose a few layers of skin. Of course, before that was to happen it was going to look like a giant scab. This entire treatment was going to take about 3 months for me to complete. After the treatment, I was going to be super sensitive to the sun. Again, if you know me, I love being outside and on the water. I’m on a Cruise lecturing 3 to 4 times a year, I am an avid sailor and I have a power boat I use often.  It’s obvious that I love the sun and water. Needless to say, my life was about to change a great deal.
As I told you earlier, I am a positive man.  If you give me lemons, I WILL make lemonade.

The reason I have decided to tell you about this personal part of my life is because I was introduced to something that has made a huge difference not only in my skin, but in my business success.

In June my partner Dabney told me of a business opportunity she had been invited to join. This opportunity was in the beginning stages and she thought I should get in with her. She stressed that this was an amazing, proven, pharmaceutically based skin care product.  She was telling me about the product and frankly I wanted nothing to do with it. She told me that the company is in pre-launch and we could both enter as founders. I know a lot of people who are in Multi-Level Marketing programs (MLM’s) and are doing great. The fact is that I’ve been swamped with my Coaching and Speaking engagements and I really didn’t have the time to get involved with anything else. And truthfully, I have never been a fan of MLM’s.

With a smile, Dabney told me to try the product and went on to pursue the adventure on her own.  So I decided to give it a try. I have been using this product for a month now and all I can say is Wow! My skin has done a complete 180 degree turn around. This product has changed my life.

In addition, I’ve sat back and watched Dabney’s success skyrocket. Within 2 days, she had a return on her investment.  Within one week she received a check for $2,800 and they have been rolling in ever since.

I thought Hmmm, Am I missing something here?  Since Dabney took a leap of faith with her equally successful friends, she has made thousands of dollars in a very short time.  Her team is growing rapidly, she attended a founders meeting in Chicago, and she is having so much fun while she is working this program.

You see I also know that my sweet Dabney is a very busy person.  All of this is taking place while she continues to work on her successful coaching business. She’s a single Mother who runs her home and has two very active and busy kids and a crazy dog. Again, I thought Hmmmm…..  How is she doing all this? It is not taking up much of her time. I know she has acquired most of her team through facebook and twitter. This amazes me because not too long ago she was a complete stranger to marketing herself online. She has always had a successful offline career and it wasn’t until this last past year that she has been bringing her business online.

After  taking  all of this all into consideration, I have decided to Join forces with my partner Dabney. I figured with my coaching, I can teach anyone how to market this opportunity online and off.

Look at my pictures below!

Having a good sense of humor I tried to make jokes about my appearance. My Boy’s were calling me hamburger head. I really don’t think I’m a vane person and at the same time this really affected my outlook. I became shy and depressed. I was stuck indoors, I had to cover my face when I drove my car. Not only because I was scaring the other drivers, but because the sunlight would put red blotches all over my face. This is while I was driving!  I thought “Oh my god! I’m never going to be able to go outside again!” After the treatment, the skin on my face was so easily affected by every element know to mankind. The heat, the sun, the cold, the wind, everything! When I swam in the ocean for the first time in May, my skin literally felt like it was about to shrivel up and burn off. I can only compare it to when you throw salt on a slug. It was awful!

I started using Skincerity in about a month ago. For me the results were noticeable 3 days after I started applying the product. My skin started feeling hydrated and the dryness was gone. In the last month I have been to the Florida Keys boating, I spent a few days at a lake boating and I just got returned from a 9 day cruise to the Caribbean. Of course I am taking the proper precautions that I should have been taking in the past. I am using a high SPF suntan lotion and wearing a hat while I’m out in the Sun. My last month was pretty crazy with my schedule and all of the traveling I was doing. I am happy to report that my skin is in better shape than it was last year this time and definitely better than it was two months ago. I believe in this product so much I am jumping in and joining my partner.

So, what does this mean for you? Well I’m glad you asked. ;D

Technology moves fast, can you keep up?

It’s amazing how fast things are progressing.  We deal with more information in a day
than our parents dealt with in 6 months.

If the feeling of overwhelm grabs you now and then, there is an answer.

To many emails? To much information?  What am I to do?

The answer is this: Systemize and Simplify.

Turn off the TV.  Turn off the computer. Turn off the radio.

Go back to basics.

Look, I’m a Techno Geek at heart.  The technology we purchase today is obsolete in a few months.

I purchased a phone last year and they have already come out with 2 versions that can do more.

It’s mind-boggling!

I believe the future belongs to those who can show others how to Systemize and Simplify!
Sometimes the easiest way to do things in right in front of us. We have a tendency to over complicate things.

If you’re in business, you should be asking a few questions.

  • Do I know what my market needs?
  • What problem do I solve?
  • Is there anyone else that is already selling to this market?
  • What makes me different from my competition?
  • Why buy from me?

The follow up is: What’s the simplest, easiest way for me to fill the need and solve the issue?

Then get to work! Think, how can I simplify my task? How can I make it better?

There is a simple process to do this.

I use 5 simple questions to start this process.

They are, Who, What, When, Where and How.

Here is an example of how I use these questions.

  • Who is responsible?
  • What is the next step?
  • When does it have to be completed?
  • Where do we go to find that information?
  • How does it happen?

This of course is just an example but I guarantee if you ask yourself these questions when trying to

Systemize and Simplify your business it will go a lot smoother.

What I usually find is that people get overwhelmed with everything going on and nothing gets accomplished.

Although change is evident for all of us, know that we are at the greatest place in human history.

Rapid advancement allows the little guy in business to gain a competitive advantage.

Look at the place you are in right now and make a decision to dream big!

Go back to basics.  Grab a sheet of paper and write down what inspires you.  What are your passions?

What problem can you solve in the marketplace now?

If you don’t feel you have a skill to do that, then find the thing
you’re passionate about and team up with someone doing it.

This gives you the opportunity to earn while you learn.

Success in the future will come to those who Systemize and Simplify.

Start by getting your life together…

Then look in the marketplace for those who need your help!

They’re out there… And there’s a whole world looking for
the answer:  Systemize and Simplify and make the world a better place.

I’ll be talking about this more in the future.

Building a process and simplifying your life is easy if you know the steps.

Do you Systemize and Simplify?

Peace & Power,

Vic

3 Years ago today….

On Wednesday February 1st 2006 something happened that would change my life forever.

You see I remember the 1st being a Wednesday because I saved Wednesday’s as a free day to run errands do various things around my house or to just plain be lazy. But one thing would always take place on Wednesday’s. I would talk to my best friend.

My best friend Bob lived about 3 hours away and on Wednesday’s we would always catch up on life, family and business things.
Here is a little secret about my best friend. I only met him a year before.
We were both in Vegas attending Self Improvement training. This was a huge event and as we were waiting to get into the room I noticed an empty seat in the hall. I went over and asked they guy sitting there if the seat was taken, he smiled and said no so I introduced myself and sat down. From the moment I met this Man I felt as though we were friends, like I had known him forever and oddly enough we lived fairly close. We ended up hanging out throughout this training and when we returned home we stayed in touch. I became friends with his family and he with mine. My 2 Sons loved him as if he were apart of our family and they had known them forever. We both had the same philosophies and similar goals. He knew more about me than any other person in the world.
So on Wednesday’s we would catch up and bounce ideas off of one another and we would literally talk for a couple of hours. We would usually talk in the morning but if we didn’t for any reason I knew that we would talk around 10pm at night.

Wednesday February 1st 2006, I remember being an extremely cold day. I woke up early and started my errands running all over the place, lots of things to do that day. Several times throughout the morning and the day I had very strong thoughts and remember even saying it out loud a few times that “Man, I got to call Bobby” but for some reason, I didn’t. That night I got into bed around 10pm, exhausted and laying there for only a minute or two the phone rings. I see it’s my friend Bobby. I answered, “Hey Buddy, I’ve been thinking about you all day” Only on the other end of the phone it was not Bob. It was his wife calling to tell me that Bob had taken his life that afternoon.

Needless to say I was stunned. As I sit here recalling that moment I can feel the same rush of emotions consume me.

As the next few days passed there was no signs as to why? There was no rhyme or reason for this to happen. His family looked to me for answers as to why I think it happened. I was and still am at a loss.

What I have learned about this experience as I said in the beginning of this note has changed my life.

I’ve learned that no matter what is going on in your life there are people who love you.
There is nothing that this world can take away from you that could justify you taking your own life because tomorrow is always another day.
In life, it’s not what we have or what we do that makes us. It’s about being grateful for what and whom we have in our lives. The way we treat others does matter. When you see someone upset it’s about him or her not you be empathetic.

We live in a world full of things and objects that people perceive will make them happy. I see people everyday take for granted what they have. With the economy and all of the issues in today’s world remember, this to shall pass.

People come into our lives for a reason. At the time you meet them you don’t know why and sometimes you never know why they are here. Frankly trying to figure it out is a waste of time and you shouldn’t put much thought into it.
What you need to do is to be grateful that you have met them and here’s a stretch, Tell Them you are thankful to have them in your life every chance you get.

This morning I opened an email from a friend who I have not seen in over a year. Friday was his Birthday and I called and left him a message to wish him a happy day. This is the Macho type of Guy who doesn’t express himself in this fashion so it definitely meant a lot to me to receive the email. After reading it I thought of my friend Bob and I decided to share this story and the email with you.

Before I copy the email below I wanted to take the opportunity to send my love and best wishes to all of my friends here. Some of you I have never met and for some reason we have connected here. Be it business or friendship I wanted to let you know I am thankful for having be a part of my world no matter how big or small. I know for some reason we have found each other and my wish is to bring something good into your life.

Take a moment to look around at what you have in your life. I guarantee that no matter how bad you may feel there are others that have it worse. Whether your life is going great or not be grateful for what you have and make sure the people who are in your life know you appreciate them.

Sending Love, Peace & Power to you and yours.

Victor

p.s. Feel free to pass this along to people you care about.

Here is the email from my friend…..

A friend of mine opened his wife’s underwear drawer and picked up a silk paper wrapped package:
‘This, – he said – isn’t any ordinary package.’
He unwrapped the box and stared at both the silk paper and the box.
‘She got this the first time we went to New York, 8 or 9 years ago.

She has never put it on, was saving it for a special occasion.
Well, I guess this is it.
He got near the bed and placed the gift box next to the other clothing
he was taking to the funeral house, his wife had just died.
He turned to me and said:
‘Never save something for a special occasion.
Every day in your life is a special occasion’.
I still think those words changed my life.
Now I read more and clean less.
I sit on the porch without worrying about anything.
I spend more time with my family, and less at work.
I understood that life should be a source of experience to be lived up to, not survived through.
I no longer keep anything.
I use crystal glasses every day…
I’ll wear new clothes to go to the supermarket, if I feel like it.
I don’t save my special perfume for special occasions; I use it whenever I want to.
The words ‘Someday…’ and ‘ One Day…’ are fading away from my dictionary.
If it’s worth seeing, listening or doing, I want to see, listen or do it now…..
I don’t know what my friend’s wife would have done if she knew she wouldn’t
be there the next morning, this nobody can tell.
I think she might have called her relatives and closest friends.
She might call old friends to make peace over past quarrels.
I’d like to think she would go out for Chinese, her favorite food.
It’s these small things that I would regret not doing, if I knew my time had come.
Each day, each hour, each minute, is special.
Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no one.

Where the Heck have you been Vic?

Where the Heck have you been Vic?

Well that has been the question of the year for me!

I am going to answer for you, but first I’d like to thank everyone who kept tabs on me especially those of you who were concerned. It’s funny, I know I have a lot of friends and contacts out there in the Internet world but, I never thought my disappearing for awhile from social media would cause such a stir.

So, where have I been hiding?
